To me spirituality refers to aspects of human existence beyond material concerns. These aspects lie in an inside world - the soul - and an outside world - the universe.
Spiritual beliefs are often grounded in a core concept that unifies all existence and connects all people to each other. People have many names for this concept - God, gods, a Higher Power, Truth, the Absolute, the Ineffable, the Great Mysterious. Spiritual practice means having beliefs and performing activities related to them, such as congregation, contemplation, prayer, and rituals. Spirituality also involves the search for existential meaning - the questions we ask about the purpose of human existence,
Who am I?
Why are we here?
What happens after we die?
Why do we suffer?
Why do we die?
What is the meaning of life?
Is there a God?.
So there are many unanswered questions that our curiosity gets the better of us as our years advance, our intelligence evolves, and our experiences remind us. The beauty of this journey is in the fact that we are all evolving at our own speed.
Our existence is tracked not by the materialistic wealth that we create or by the careers that we forge. Our representation to a higher conscious level of living can only be achieved if one is open and aware, and willing to dissolves ones ego in return for a seemingly infinite amount of opportunities that a journey down a spiritual path can provide.
